This Charming Pet Cafe in Shah Alam Lets You Dine with Adorable Cats!

As a cat lover, I’ve always dreamed of visiting a pet cafe nearby. I recently stumbled upon this hidden gem in Shah Alam where you can enjoy a meal surrounded by the cutest felines! It's called the Moon D Cafe and it's located on the second floor.

Moon D Cafe: A Muslim-friendly Pet Cafe in Shah Alam

Opened only a few months ago, Moon D Cafe is Shah Alam’s first Muslim-friendly cat cafe. Before entering, I noticed posters outlining the cafe's house rules and the cats' biographies. Guests are also required to take off their shoes before stepping inside.

I was pleasantly surprised by the sight of fluffy cats lounging on the floor the moment I walked in. The cafe had a calming ambience, with simple yet vibrant decor that added to its charm.

The food

For a pet cafe, I would say that the food selection is surprisingly good, offering a decent variety. I decided on the tempura don, while my friend went for the chicken karaage don. To drink, we chose a matcha latte and the "blue ocean soda."

The staff also recommended some desserts, including cheesecake and matcha mousse. I went with the latter. If you're craving some snacks, there are also popcorn chicken and cheesy fries available.

Not only did the food look incredibly appetising, but they also tasted great. I loved how they provided a small cup of dashi soup to keep the dishes from being too dry. Both the chicken karaage and tempura were perfectly seasoned as well!

Meet the cats: Moon Moon, Line, Boss, James, Sally, and Jessica

After filling our tummies, it was finally time to play with the cute cats! There are a total of six cats here, namely Moon Moon, Line, Boss, James, Sally, and Jessica. Unfortunately, Boss was unwell during our visit, so we only had the chance to interact with the others.

At Moon D Cafe, you’re welcome to feed, interact, and play with the cats, though picking them up is not allowed. From what I noticed, each cat has its unique personality: Sally is friendly and loves food, while Line often has his cat treats stolen!

Line was so shy, I couldn't really get a close up picture of him.

Be careful when interacting with Moon Moon though, he might meow or swat at you if he gets a bit impatient. James is a fan of being petted, while Jessica is elegant just like the way she looks!

Since it was a workday afternoon, the cafe was less crowded, and we could spend a little more time with the cats.

If you’re looking for a charming spot in Klang Valley where you can enjoy great food and the company of the cutest cats, Moon D Cafe is the place to go!
